So how do we rent cars thru the Executive Aisle exactly?

Do I book a fullsize car, but get upgraded to premium, while only paying a midsize rate? I'm quite confused.

And can we use any coupon codes with Executive rentals? It seems all the coupon codes require other contract codes.

I beg to differ, it was not all there. Would it take any skin off your teeth to provide an iota of helpful information?

All it says is to make a reservation between intermediate and full-size, go to the Executive Aisle, and pick a car.

What it doesn't say is that if you make a reservation for full-size, you pay the mid-size rate, while given access to premium class vehicles. Would you have to pay extra for a luxury car or SUV if it were in the Executive Aisle? Some say yes, in the FT forum.


Here's a good summary from martinp, from flyertalk forum.

Emerald Aisle: book midsize rate, pick anything off EA, pay midsize rate.

Exec: book fullsize rate, pick anything off EA/Exec, pay midsize rate.

The "pay midsize rate" numbers are the same, but you get a bigger selection for a bigger/nicer car.To use your terms..... Would it take any skin off your teeth to bother to search before negging the answer I provided?

WOW! I read thru the exchange between you and Minyan who seems to be rather new and trying to help. An answer to your question might be found by calling National and asking them directly instead of relying on posts here if you are unable to find the info where Minyan told you. It is unreasonable to expect someone to link for you. You should be able to search using the info provided. If not, just call them and ask.

Minya- please don't get discouraged when some of us get grumpy! (We are all guilty of it and I will be the first in line!!)

I would call National, but it's generally faster and more efficient to glean information from other members who have more knowledge than I do on the matter, hence my question. Look at every single thread in Hot Deals or Travel Deals, or anything else. It's full of posts of people asking questions and seeking answers. Are they stupid questions? Perhaps sometimes. Are they obvious questions? Perhaps, yes as well, but it's in the spirit of the forum to share information with fellow FWers. Have I answered a hundred stupid repetitive questions from noobs asking what extra care bucks are? yes, but I don't go around negging their posts. And please note that Minyan negged my original question post even before I replied. You knew the answer, why not share it?

Of course I'm going to get angry if Minyan says, "It's on the National website". If M knows, then why not share some information in the spirit of FW? I already checked the National website prior to asking my question, and watched both EA and ES intro videos, and didn't find them particularly helpful. Now I'm going to be renting from National in the next month, and I will be happy to share my experiences with my fellow FWers, if asked.
