How do you report a bad seller on ebay? transaction cancelled.

Two months ago, I used the buy it now option and won the auction of a $500 lens. It was a multiple units auction and the seller is an online store from Hong Kong. I really needed the item at that time and the seller claimed that they have it in stock while everywhere else was sold out. Prior to the auction, I sent a message to the seller confirming if they have the item in stock and I was assured that the item is ready to be shipped.

Long story short, I bid and paid it with paypal. Seller sent me an email notifying me that tracking number will be provided the next day. I waited for a week, no email and no tracking. I started sending emails to the seller to check on the status. For 4 weeks, the sellers ignored all my emails. Finally, I sent a nasty email threatening to leave negative feedbacks. Seller replied in 30 minutes, gave me a flimsy excuse that the item was undelivered because no one was at the address to sign for it and the lens is damaged and they don't have another one to send me. Seller offered to refund my money only if I agree to cancel the auction and don't leave feedback. At that time, I just wanted to get my money back so I went with what they want. My payment was fully refunded. However, I check on the seller's listing and they are still listing the same lens with 10 available units.

Although I got all my money back, I feel that I want to warn others. I sent an email to eBay asking for their opinions on this issue but I did not get a reply. The seller has 9000 plus positive feedbacks and they are a major online store selling electronics to the States.

Should I even pursue this? What do you guys think?

So did you left positive feedback or none at all? If none at all, then leave negative feedback -- end of story.

If you left a positive as part of the deal, that was foolish having paid with PP. They could not have withheld the refund having not delivered the item. You gave in to extortion, left positive FB, got your refund, deal's done.

May be rhe seller was suspicious of something about the transaction possibly something in your feedback or you asked so many questions about item stock etc and don't want to complete the transaction.Plus you send him a nasty email that may have been scared him more.

so he decided to play along to get a positive feedback & his fvf.

He would have added you to Block buyers list also.

I also block buyers who ask so many questions as my auctions are clearly described with pictures as these transactions always end in some problems.

May be your case is different.Just my experience.

That is the main reason of me posting here. I am not able to post any feedbacks since the seller sent me a request to cancel the auction and I did.
I did not ask many questions, all I did was making sure the seller has the item in stock since everywhere else was sold out.
The only reason I sent him a nasty emails is because I did not get any replies from the seller for 4 weeks. No item, no tracking info, no emails.

Don't you guys get it? The seller obviously don't have the item in stock. They are advertising it as in stock so buyers buy with them instead of other retailers.
It's not a big deal for me since I got all my money back, all I hope if to warn other potential buyers. Right now, I think it is better I just move on.

Oh we get it alright, sucky experience all around. And you had your chance to warn other buyers. But you blew your chance to warn them when you agreed to the ridiculous demands of the seller. You can chalk it up as a lesson learned and read up on your rights as a buyer with PP and eBay.

Or you can try again if you really want to post that feedback. Buy again and leave feedback on that transaction. If IPR you would be leaving your money hanging out there though. But if he really doesn't have in stock you could go through the whole mess again and get to leave your feedback. But I agree with your last sentence . . . right now, I think it is better you just move on.

It sounds to me like the buyer only asked one question before buying and all other questions were sent after no contact for a week. The seller didn't have a reason to not send based on the first email, nor to wait over a week before sending it, let alone four weeks. Besides, if you don't want to do business with someone, refund them immediately anyway. Don't make it get to the four-week point.

I buy and sell frequently on eBay with 1000+ positive feedbacks (100%). I do know my right as a buyer with Paypal and eBay. I don't see a point of filling a claim with Paypal when the seller has already agreed to a refund. The process is definitely not as easy as it sound. Anyway, that is a different story. The main thing is, I only found out that the seller relisted the same item with ten available units after I canceled the auction. All I wanted to know is if there is a way to report a seller on canceled transactions. If not, I move on. I will never buy from this seller again so it won't hurt me as much as other potential buyers.

You can file a non-performing seller alert. That's it. Since its been 2 months it's probably too late for that.

I don't believe that the seller is out of items as he relisted with 10 items and also a power selller with over 9000 feedback.If he don't have the item he woulnot have relisted.I still believe that something ticked of the seller or there is more story to the situation.

I could care less what you believe. I am not here to make up a story. The seller's id is dcempire for those of you who think you might deal with this seller in the future. The seller has 6 negative feedbacks this month and 67 within these 6 months. I didn't bother to read through every single feedbacks but there are already few buyers who experienced the exact same problem where the seller took their money and waited a month to tell them a lie. If you are bidding items that they have in stock then I guess you don't have a problem but I know for a fact that they do not have Tokina 10-17mm fisheye or Tamron 90mm Macro in stock eventhough they claimed they do.

Found these negative feedbacks for this seller, all within these 2 months. I bid on the same item. Go to their seller's page, you will see that they still have the same lens on eBay with 9 available units. You can be your own judge.

Never did send item, lots of stupid excuses and ended up canceling order. Beware

Thanku for clarifying the situation.

May be seller is short of money & using money from sales in reserve to pay off his previous month dues.

Like Amazon & paypal who occasionally hold money may be the seller is collecting interest on the reserve money.

He won't last long on feebay if he continue this.Too many cancelled transactions will end him in booted off feebay.

It is vey bad that a powerseller is acting like this.

He's probably a drop-shipper using automated listing dumps from a vendor that's out of stock.
