I'm looking for a 7" - 8" black digital picture frame which I will be giving as a Christmas present. I'd like it to be a higher end model and have high resolution etc. I've never really looked into getting one before so I was wodnering if any fellow FW'ers have one that they like. Also, if you have a WI-FI frame do you think that's easier than using an SD card (I'd imagine that it would be)? Thanks to anyone who can offer any advice!

i cant believe nobody responded. I too am interested in purchasing a few for xmas gifts as my wife and I just had a baby in August. I seen these all over but most are low resolution. I like the idea that these wireless ones automatically connect to certain websites and download photos.. hopefully someone will chime in with more information..

I have gotten pretty good resolution PanDigital frames... there are a few that are actually pretty decent resolution (i think they're the 7 or 8" ones). They work well, and are simple. Have one for myself, one for the girly, and one for the fam.

The general consensus is to steer clear of the 480x234 panels which are the cheapos. It's not just the low resolution but they all look very washed out. 640x480 minimum or 800x600 preferably. Make sure you also note the aspect ratio of the frame -- most people have normal sized pics which look better on a 4:3 screen rather than 16:9 which increasingly more frames are coming out with.

Wi-Fi is new to the picture frame scene - especially when it comes to auto-downloading your photos from Picasa, Flikr, Webshots, etc. The big wi-fi ones on the market right now are Kodak, Pandigital, and a few others I can't remember. See Link for more info.
