Well, the forex.com offer is front and center on their website. The fine print on that one is confusing about when you can withdraw, though. |

Both deals are reported as treating transactions as purchases, but surely the cc company can change that if they wish since you are getting cash in both instances. |

I think he is speaking out of experience, he has probably done the coins deal, didn't get hit with a cash advance fee and hence finds it safer. |

When the mint bills you, you could be buying collectables, and not the direct ship coins. I don't believe there is any transfer of information to the CC company as far as what was purchased, so just blanket classifying anything from "US Mint Sales" as cash advances would hurt regular collectors. On the other hand, purchases from a company who does only forex could be a lot easier to be identified as buying currency. Just my 2c. |

Theoretically, anything is possible. But we've been opening bank accounts with credit card sources for a long time and they are not treated as cash advances. Who knows why they do things the way they do them. |

And this was when I tried to withdraw the money more than a year after funding with the credit card. Well, that kills the idea of turning this into a CC rewards mill. |

I'm also curious if this would be treated the same for visa/mastercard gift cards...could be a nice way to get money off of them... |

In the forex.com deal, no one actually made a trade. Here we will all be making at least one trade. If a non-FWF customer trades on Zecco Forex and turns $10k into $50k (which I'm sure a few lucky ones do) are they really going to put $50k back on a credit card? And on which card? I funded my $10,250 using three different cards. If one of them gets a $10,250 negative balance when I withdraw, but I get rewards on the other two, then fine! It's still a boatload of rewards points, and I can just ask for a balance refund on the negative one. Personally I think withdrawals will be by snail-mail check or wire. Why? Because, on the withdrawal page, it lets you pick either check or wire. But they might still do CCs -- I don't know, nobody will know for 90 days, and even if they do stick it on my CC, there's still potentially the multi-card loophole you can drive a truck through. |

Can someone point which tab/menu I need to hit? You can't place a trade right now. It's open from 5 p.m. EST Sunday through 5 p.m. EST Friday. |

Anyway: To qualify for cash bonus, you must open and fund a new Zecco Forex trading account by July 31, 2009. After first trade is initiated, cash bonus will be deposited to your account within 3-5 business days (1). Existing Zecco Forex customers who have funded and traded are not eligible to receive this promotion (2).
(1) Doesn't sound like you need to keep your 10k in after you receive your bonus. (2) Damn-it to hell, looks like existing (or previous) Succo customers are out.
Warning to anyone who actually trades with Zecco, especially day trades with larger positions, I had their entire system go down on me about 3 times in a few months last year. The first time, I watched in disgust as a $800 winner turn into a $500 loser as it plummeted through all my stops which never activated... Infuriated I waited on hold for almost an hour as not even the website was available.
The good news is that by the time I actually got through to someone the position was only down $500, whereas a half hour ago it was down over $1.2k... Zecco's response? "Sorry." Then they actually had the nerve to try and charge me for a broker assisted trade. Never day traded with Zecco again, but tried multi-day position trading only to see more of the same garbage for a few months. Left, never went back and am happy about it.
Get in, get your bonus, get out. I ALSO day traded with them, and had the same experience as above. PLEASE NO ONE TRADE FOREX, STOCKS OR ANYTHING WITH THEM. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I WILL PURPOSELY DEPOSIT 10,001 TO GET THE BONUS, THEN WITHDRAW IT ALL. THE $200 IS ABOUT 1/5TH OF WHAT THEY SHOULD OWE ME. |

Thanks for the tip, but I think most of us do not plan to day trade or do any trading that exceeds the bare minimum for this bonus. And for two simple consecutive buy/square trades, their system suffices. |

Just made one round trade, cost me $2.3. If you have the mini account. trade the euro/usd, the spread is about $3 for 1 lot (10k euro). |

Schwab Visa won't lower the cash advance limit? So far, only one posted that it was treated as a purchase. Did anyone tried funding 20K with schwab? |

I do not read this to say that you need to make your first trade by July 31. I read it to say you must OPEN and FUND your Zecco Forex trading account by July 31. So I would take that to mean that the account has to be open and FUNDED by that time. Though it is probably a good idea to also make a trade by that time, it only specifies that the bonus will be paid after the first trade. But it seems to be pretty clear concerning when the account needs to be funded. Then why do they offer a check funding option? I didn't see anything in the terms saying when the funds need to be there, just that you need to make your first trade by july 31.
The terms in the email make no mention, so I think it's safe: To qualify for cash bonus, you must open and fund a new Zecco Forex trading account by July 31, 2009. After first trade is initiated, cash bonus will be deposited to your account within 3-5 business days. Bonus amount varies based on amount of deposit according to the following schedule: $200 bonus with deposit of 10,000 or more; $100 bonus with deposit of $2500 -$9999; $75 bonus with deposit of $1001-$2500, $50 bonus with deposit up to $1000. Cash bonus cannot be withdrawn within 90 days of initial funding. Existing Zecco Forex customers who have funded and traded are not eligible to receive this promotion. Self-directed trading accounts only; managed accounts and accounts referred by an Introducing Broker are not eligible to receive this promotion. Limit one cash bonus per customer. This offer is non-transferable. |
