A little background 1st: On 2/29 I got all my softs from my services (chopped from my EQ report) CHOPPAGE
I started pulling reports daily after 2/29 and began to see B* again, I removed 1 old INQ (2/08)and 3 INQs from 4/08 and BAMM on 4/18 all my softs got CHOPPED again. So I've been pulling daily again to restart my B*, I've since AORed and now have 10 INQ BUT I was at 13 INQs since 4/08.
Summary 2/13/08 1 INQ 2/29 CHOPPAGE 4/08 AOR 13 INQs plus 1 from 2/13/08 4/17/08 I was down to 10 INQs 4/18 CHOPPAGE
This can get confusing so you REALLY have to follow closely and maybe even REREAD the OP above.
3/27/08 I bought a EQ report to see my softs, it actually looks like on 3/25/08 they CHOPPED me and left a 2/29/08 soft for each service. (confused yet) reread.
4/26 I buy a new report and compare with the 3/27 report. I have 63 softs that either got redated or have not changed, even though I was getting B* before the 4/18 CHOPPAGE.
Those softs that where either REDATE (no help for B*) or did not get B*ed are the following.
AR-Advanta biz ser. (redated) ND-AMEX open the 5/18/06 AR-crap1 (redated) AR-crap1 bank usa NA NEW SoleP. Since 9/07 I have AORed 6 times and B*ed my reports 6 times, BUT MANY OF MY SOFTS DO NOT B* OFF.
My theory is this: 1)EQ WILL NOT allow their softs to get B*ed off (maybe for legal reasons ie. a record of EQ employees looks at my report). 2) A Soft CODED (AR)(ND)(PRM) can be redated and is not allowed to grow with multiple dated softs, ie. a new AR replaces an old AR from the same issuer. 3) I have EQ silver (newly purchased 4/08 to lock credit report after AOR) EQ reports cost $8.00 I think each 8.00 add a NON B*able soft to my pile. I filed 2 INQ disputes last week (2 seperate disputes) and I now have 3 new EQ entries on my report, that I don't think will B*.
ND-EQ 4/21/08 1st dispute (MAYBE) ND EQ 4/21/08 2nd dispute (MAYBE) EQ 4/21/08 Employee opening my file for the 2 disputes (MAYBE)
When I compare my 3/27/08 with my 4/26/08 report I count 63 softs that DID NOT B* or were redated. So if EQ holds 119 softs (thats how many are on my report) and I have 63 softs that CAN'T be B*ed and 119 total allowed softs.
119-63=56 I'm starting to think it should only take me 56 or 57 new softs to get B*. It will be different for each of us, depending on how many NON-B*able ND, PRM, AR, EQ softs each of us have.
So I'm thinking if I can get 10, 20, 30 new banks to PRM/AR/ND my report then it might only take 46 or less new softs to start B*.
I can also buy more 8.00 reports (not exciting but a cost of doing business), But I might be able to open a new dispute DAILY to raise the amount of UNB*able EQ entries on my report.
I know this might be VERY HARD for some to follow but it's a little complicated but well worth the time. Maybe some of us FWFers can compare the PRM/AR/ND softs on our reports. Kinda like you tell me who ND/PRM/AR your reports and then I get them to do it to my report and you get my PRM/AR/ND to soft your reports.
Maybe this is what SPLITTAGE is about, we hear stories of split files but it never happens to us. Maybe after you get more than 119 UNIQUE UNB*able softs on your report then it will SPLIT (SPLITTAGE).
I hope everyone can see just how IMPORTANT this is, Since EQ has CHOPPED alot of us in the last 2 months we will need to B* even faster before the CHOPPAGE happens.
I'll read your comments and hope you guys can ADD to this thinking in the name of B* science

The test will be to see if my B* starts at 56 softs from my 1st 4/10 INQ. As of today I have 50 softs since my last CHOPPAGE on 4/18. I pull 6 EQs a day, so tomorrow will be 56 since choppage date.
Just in case it takes 57 softs, I'll buy a myFICO report. so my total will be 51 softs since CHOPPAGE.
My old report HAD a soft for FAIR ISAAC (myFICO.com) but now it's gone, So those softs do B* off.
I pulled a myFICO report, it shows 10 INQs. But in the (understanding your score) section I get.
Your applications for credit in the past year 5 inquiries About 72% of FICO High Achievers [?] did not apply for credit in the past year. Of those that did, about 20% applied for credit just once.
I wonder if I'm about to lose 5 INQs Tomorrow, just as predicted!
EDIT: I've never seen that section different than the # of INQs on the report.
I have two ND's listed on my report--both from car insurance companies back when I requested quotes from them (and provided them with a SSN)-- ND-LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE 09/30/07 ND-PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE 09/30/07

A possibility to add to your list of NDs...
I'm sure I'll be sorry for this (junk mail)
All 3 of my credit reports are frozen, so i'll go apply for those 2 insurance companies and see if I can get a soft from them.

Thanks for posting your softs!
EDIT: Progressive pulled a soft on my Experian
Liberty mutual must have pulled either EQ or TU (their rates sucked)

Glad to help out--curious to see what the results of your b* investigation will be...

I looked thru this list for something I could apply for without getting a new account reporting on my credit report.
Treasury bank huh? So I looked it up and seen Countrywide bank, so I opened a MM checking account. Then I pulled Experian using the back door and there was no soft from countrywide. So we'll see, I'll buy another EQ report tomorrow.
I might just open up 10 or 20 accounts and just not follow thru with funding
HA HA WE are now in control of our credit reports he he
Thanks Rorer
EDIT: I also made up a DL# when I did the APP, just in case TYRONE is watching
Oh wait, who's that knocking on my door? Hope it's not the FBI
Lets see if Lending tree will try to pull a soft on a frozen report, they can shop me around all they want if they will soft my report They might not even pull credit or try??? We'll see.
I put my 300K+ income on there app and it said "please review your entry because you would be in the top 1% of earners".
I think they'll shop it, if they can! Where there's a will, there's a way.
Enlighten me, but why are you so worried about bumping soft inquiries? unless u're applying from current issuers but most likely they'll pull a hard one again.

Bumping soft INQs?
I'm trying to get as many softs that won't be B*ed by my softs. Most FWFers think it takes about 90 or so softs to B* an EQ INQ. I'm trying to figure out a way to make that much much less.
If EQ holds 119 Softs and I have 63 that cannot be Bumped, then it might take less than the 90 or so softs to B*.
If I get 100 softs (that do not B*) MAYBE I will be able to B* within 20 of my soft pulls.
I could be wrong, but I don't see how if I have 63 softs that don't get bumped.
When I read the OP, it makes perfect sense to me.
Am I not explaining this right? I thought every FWFer would jump on this in a second and be as excited as I am.
119 softs 50 softs since 4/10 (my 1st INQ is 4/10 also)
On 4/28 I have 134 softs 67 softs since 4/10
My Jan 20 report (before any choppage) had 136 softs total (that must be right at the limit of softs)
So I added 15 softs in total since 4/26 but I added 17 since 4/10.
This looks confusing but it looks like at least 1 or 2 softs got B*ed since 4/26.
Well to sum up, it looks like my B* is right on track AS USUAL. There has been no EQ interference, but I was thinking B* would have started already since I have so many old softs that aren't getting B*ed.
I'll report tomorrow.
OH Liberty mutual did pull a soft on my EQ report, thanks for the info!

Good deal on Liberty Mutual--guess they're good for something besides their car insurance... Buffett's GEICO all the way!
As far as clarity goes, bumpage in and of itself is confusing, so that may be part of the lack in popularity. The semi-permanent soft inquiry is interesting though--maybe it needs a good name--bumpage, choppage, hard inquiry, soft inquiry etc... all have easy to remember names.
