What about Co-Branded's (eg. Associated Bank, which is issued by Citibank)?
I really wish there were a PDF of this deal somewhere.
TYTBUDGET Did you look through the links that tolamapS gave you?? In one of the threads, the qualifying cards and products are listed in his post of an excerpt from the Thank You Network FAQ. |

6 months? How quickly do TY Points normally expire? I noticed that the sign-up bonus points earned through the AT&T Universal card expired in 6 months. I was surprized to see that happen, because most of the expirations were showing 2010, 2011, 2012. I guess some sign-up bonuses expirer sooner. |

6 months? How quickly do TY Points normally expire? They just revert to regular Thank You points. In the 6 month window you are getting 2 time value. The deal I show is 40,000 TYP or 2 tickets up to $400ea. = $800 value if you don't buy the tickets within 6 month you just keep the 40,000 TYP to use as you wish. |

I don't get what you mean by "They just revert to regular Thank You points". What's the difference between "regular" TY points and the points we get for the first six months? I don't think it matters where the TY points came from. As long as there are enough TY points in my account, I am able to redeem them for fixed point flights (done this twice so far). This is the relevant section: 20,000 ThankYou Points will be awarded within 120 days from the date of satisfaction of offer terms. Customer must redeem points within six (6) months after receipt of written confirmation that the promotional qualifications have been met to receive one (1) round-trip airline ticket to anywhere in the continental U.S., valued at up to $400. Points required for this promotion are subject to increase after this time as provided in terms and conditions. I think what this means is that (and maybe this is what you meant too): If you are redeeming the 20k points within 6 months of receiving them, they can redeem at the rate of up to $400/20k points. After this time is over, the maximum $ value of tickets you can buy with the 20k points can change. Am I reading this right? |

Citi bank is having huge writedowns > $10B from the mortgage market. So they need money injection from outside. If they get money from commercial bank, it is much cheaper than borrowing from financial market. Usually they have to sell some stocks or options to the lender. Now they are betting that customers won't withdraw the money too quickly so that they can use those money to save themselves. Air tickets are one way to attract customers. By the way, customers won't lose anything since all are insured by FDIC. |

They have the flyers in office right now. I just opened my accounts for the 40k points. I opened the Citi Everything Counts checking account, so I don't have to keep any money there for long. The fee for the checking account is waived with 10k in deposit or 20k in non-deposit accounts. So my BT balances are waiving my checking account fees. |
