Today's mail had a interesting letter - closing of my Associated Bank credit card effective 10/31/09. Citibank is discontinuing the card after that date no further charges will be accepted and account will be closed. Current account terms and conditions will continue to any balance remaining & you will continue to get statements until balance is paid in full. I took advantage of this 0% balance transfer in 12/08 so mine is nearly at the end but I assume others here did this too. It sounds like current terms will be honored. This was in my wifes name so I'm will not make her call but if anyone else has more info please share. |

When I login online, I see this for my account: Effective October 31, 2009, this credit card offered by Citibank (South Dakota), N.A. will no longer be available. As of that date, the card you currently have will be closed to new purchases. If you have a balance on this account, you may continue to pay your balance online and will continue to receive a statement until the account is paid in full. Please contact Citibank customer service directly at 1-866-556-8292, for any questions you might have regarding your account. People are also having their 5% rewards accounts closed. |
