Any advice Clyde? I thought of calling the number provided with the rejection. I have 2 biz BofA cards and 2 personal BofA cards with total CL of ~90K and utilization of $19K all on the biz side. I also applied for a platinum plus pre-approved bofa card from jakeru that claims to have limits up to $100K. That is pending and I am definitely going to wait until that finishing processing before calling about the other boa cards. The optimal solution is to wait a few days, unfreeze EXP (may be a few late pulls?) and then apply only for the BofA cards (might freeze TU and EQ at that time). Thoughts, advice?

Does that mean the BofA pre-approved pulled a diferent 1, if thats the case then I suggest finding another BofA who will not want to pull EXP.

But if you don't mind a few EXP pulls, I agree with your last statement and was thinking the same thing about freezing the TU and EQ then unfreeze. Either way, I think your in control now!!!

My AMEX letter says to unfreeze ALL MY REPORTS, screw them!!

alert mods

This might help.

As some of you know, My EXP is frozen. The other day I also froze TU and applied for a CRAP1 business card. They only pulled EQ and approved me for 5,000.

Then I applied for a US bank biz card (SP)and got the 7-10 day message. I'm testing my theories, since they have $hitty 4% BT fees.

Then I unfroze my TU and applied for a 2nd US bank biz card (SP), I got the 7-10 message again. But this time I also got the screen "whould you like to make a BT". Come to find out I was approved for 10,000.

On the same day I also applied for a US bank BIZ card for my (LLC) with my SS# on it. I got the 7-10 day message again. I also got the screen " would you like to make a BT".

Then I pulled my credit report and saw that US bank had pulled my EQ only once. (I think the 1st app tried to pull a frozen report, thats why I didn't get the "would you like a BT screen")

Last week I called and they said I was approved for 10,000 (travel rewards biz visa). I said what about the other application. She said it was still processing.

Today I called, She asked for my SS#. I said use this # and gave here my LLC tax ID#. She pulled it up immediatly and said it was approved for 15,000. She didn't even say "thats not your SS#".

So know the big question is, Did they not pull for the LLC or did they just use 1 pull for all the apps?

Venturion, did you leave your SS# off any of the apps?

Sorry for such a long story, but I wanted everyone to REALLY understand the Step by step. I'm still waiting on the 1st app that didn't give me the (BT option). I wonder if that 1 will go thru also...

Haven't received the cards, but reporting today with zero balance:
$20K CitiPro
$12.7K National Parks

Result: handy drop in utilization and nice 14 point boost to TU score (760).

Spoke with credit analyst at BofA. He could see both co-branded cards that were denied due to not being able to pull Experian. The Platinum Plus pre-approved provided by Jakeru was also in limbo. He pulled TU after I explained the freeze. The $80K+ CL would require around $500K in income and/or $500K in liquid assets. He was willing to give $30K with my stats. Big factor was likely my $65K CL sitting idle on my Usair card.

Win - I put my SS# on all my apps as requested. Curious to see how your scenario turns out.

Mail delivery resumes today - lets see what turns up, especially with Chase.

I like the "or $500K in liquid assets" part.

So Venturion

Your saying you got BofA to pull TU for the 100,000 app. Did you take the 30,000? (maybe a dumb question)

Would he use that for the other 2 apps? I would explain that Experian hasn't sent the code yet, and they can clearly see on your TU that you are a prime borrower. Just a thought.

alert mods

I'm working a strategy on the BofA apps, so let me reply in detail in a few days.

Yes - BofA pulled TU (I should have asked him to pull Equifax). I haven't accepted the $30K yet.

alert mods

Good luck with BoA, You have BALLS! I would of jumped on the 30,000 offer, are you sending DOCs to get more.

I failed to mention, I already recieved the 10,000 us bank card and the 15,000 was mailed on Friday.

alert mods

So... they gave you $30k more personal CL (adding to the 65k you already had, to put your personal total combined BOA exposure just under the $100k mark), and all that without pulling EX?

Congrats... not bad!

Might I ask now how you plan to exploit your personal BOA CL now:
1. Reallocate CL to NEA, BT (probably modest util) and hold for 12 months.

2. Reallocate CL to NEA, roll 100%-0% utilization monthly. (The $30 BT monthly fee would be nothing compared to a $90k balance's interest earning abilities!)

3. Reallocate CL to some 0% BOA Biz, take aggressive (high util) BT and hold. (Then maybe bump, rinse, repeat!)

4. or... Perhaps some sinister Billpay plan?

PS - for your deposit accounts, you might consider converting them to joint with wife if not already, to bump up FDIC coverage to $200k instead of $100k.

Give me just two or three days to work out the BofA details and then I'll share - I promise.

A little lottery in the mail tonight:
$20K from Capital One - woohoo. If I'm lucky, I'll get another $2.5K CLI when doing the BT like last time.*

I also got rejections from:
1. State Farm - "too many inquiries in the last 6 months" - I called; CSR thought app was denied b/c my $35K BT request exceeded the $25K limit. She offered to run the app again without another pull. I accepted and she asked if I had been house or car hunting (looking for a reason to overlook the multiple inquiries, which may have shown as many as 10 from TU that day). Of course I said yes - I have been car hunting. I was approved for $10K and she scheduled for another CSR to call me back tomorrow to figure what paperwork I could send in to get an even larger line. I asked for $25K.
2. RBS - "unable to verify credit references as provided." I don't know what that means. There is a number to call for "reconsideration." It was closed so I'll redial tomorrow. Letter claims Equifax was pulled.

I also received:
$20K Citi Professional
$10K ESPN WAMU

Good day for mail. Still waiting for Chase results and I'll let you know as soon as I BofA strategy has a result.

* So Cap1 may differ from Advanta in permitting more than 1 card per PG for multiple business entities. I consider myself fortunate in getting two $20K lines from Cap1.

alert mods

OH, it feels like Christmas at the Ventuion House!

I tried the 2nd Cap1 app and was denied, I'll hit them again after the 45 days has past, Thats what my letter said.

alert mods

The holidays continue... RBS approved over the phone this morning. I suspect all of my bottom half applications are going to require this type of finessing because of the multiple inquiries from Citi, Chase, etc. from the top half. This is exactly what the RBS person said (mirroring the State Farm person yesterday). And both asked/looked for reasons to overlook the inquiries. So that's two reversed decisions. Should I try the infamously difficult FNBO for a third reversal? I'm going to send in Pulaski info today (CSR indicated a HHI of over $120K will qualify for highest line of $20K). PS. RBS CSR didn't have the CL yet, so will find out in the mail in a few days.

PPS. Got the advanta approval - no CL yet.

alert mods

I got my FNBO card (personal) in Jan07, in 9/07 I CLIed and applied for a biz card. Both denied, in Nov I added the biz card to my 15 apps and got approved for 12,000. I've had no trouble from them at all, not even a peep and they continued to remind me I had a few months left on my 0% BT on my personal card.

Hows are the INQs on EQ doing?

Good Luck

What is KC in the above post? I am having some odd issues with NCIP so I'm looking to add another service for B*, thanks.

Sorry - should have been CK for Credit Karma. Typo fixed. Thanks.

nice going.would love to see how the boa action ends.

alert mods

If RBS denies for "unable to verify credit references" generally it's easy to get approved, and akin to GE's "Unable to verify identity"
State farm on the other hand, tends to hate inquiries, and I usually leave them out of AoRs now.
