markber said:5) Maximal fee for promo BT (not shown)

Why not shown? This is crucial for maximizing BT profits. For example, Chase cards generally have a BT fee of 3%, but the fee is capped at $75. BoA, on the other hand, also has many cards with 3% BT fees, but fees are uncapped.

CITI has 3% and uncapped fees...bastards!

Received a pre-approved 0% 12mo bt and purchases made with promotional convenience checks from Wachovia (Wellsfargo?) for the Wachovia Platinum Visa to DH and me (2 offers). No annual fee, 3% trans fee(min $10, max $99). BUT..."Credit line up to $10k". Open account by 3/28/2009. Must bt/issue check within 3 months of account opening.

Not very hot...unless I can get a higher cl @ max bt fee. PROMO code on offer.

Recently finished paying off a 12 month/0%/no fee on the Citi Upromise Card. I just looked at my account and there is ANOTHER 12 month/0%/no fee offer out there to use by 5/1/09 on the same Upromise card.

I have a big balance to transfer of $19K that my current 0% offer is ending at the end of next month. I currently have about 10 credit cards open with limits of $10 upwards of maybe $27K with BOA. I have Citi Cards, chase cards, BOA cards and Discover for the most part. Often times when I apply for a card they dont tell you the credit limit upfront, they approve your card, transfer a balance and I find out I have a $2500 credit limit. Does Citi, Chase, BOA or Discover currently have any offers where they will close one of my opening accounts to move that credit limit to a new card with a 0% offer or even easier are there any cards that are easy to get that will give me a $19K + limit with 0% for a year.

I am eyeing penfed 2.99 for life. am i missing something? and for my original question, what are the ways to achieve it?There are problems with those cards, for example some companies have simply refused to continue the offer, cancel the card, etc. etc. Also those $0.50 charges add up when there is a 20% charge applied to them, you MUST maintain the agreement for whatever the duration otherwise you're screwed, not to mention the fact that there could be a time where you can't charge $0.50 or $0.25 to the card for what ever reason and then you're stuck. ALSO those charges are NOT tax deductable so that is something to consider as well especially if you have a low rate mortgage.

The PENFED 2.99% for life has a pretty big thread listing out all the details. Several people are working the deal and using it to pay off small mortgages or HEL/HELOC's. There are no monthly purchase requirements as goku2 is refering to.

Any recommendations on which of the card(s) are most likely to approve someone with little credit. My roommate is only 20 so doesn't have a ton of credit history. His scores are about 650. Unfortunately, he has about $7,000 on CC debt at an insane rate (20%) so if he can even get a 10% BT card, that's a huge improvement - I just don't want to have him apply for cards that are almost certain to reject him. Thanks!

This may be trivial question for experts here still I am going to ask to know about it. I am in need of some cash around 30k and I don't have any debt except my mortgage. I wanted to apply for penfed 2.99 credit card and take the money from there. 2.99% is always for balance transfer and I don't have any balance to transfer from any other credit card. So to take cash from this credit card what is the procedure ? After applying for the credit card do I have to wait for the checks to come and submit that or go to ATM and withdraw the money from there ? How are you all transferring the money ? I could be wrong but some credit cards have less cash limit than the credit limit approved right so how do I overcome that. Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks.

YMMV.
The following application page for Citi Professional Card still mentions 12-month BT offer with no BT fees. Here is a link to Terms and Conditions.

I am not sure if Citi would honor the terms though, considering that the standard offer for the Professional Card does not include a BT offer.

Has anyone tried this?

It seems like the 12 month 0%bt fee cards are now a thing of the past, right?

I applied for the card on 9/28/09 and got a card with different terms.

I sent the original terms to Citi by mail and am waiting to see if I can get them to honor the terms I applied for.
