Do you know if that 18.5 inch barrel comes with different choke tubes or if it can take a turkey choke tube (extra full)?

You can't change chokes on the 18.5 inch. Mossberg considers the 18.5" a "security" barrel, not necessarily hunting or trap. So, they figure you don't need chokes for intruders.

I was going to purchase one of these combos a week or so ago, but ended up opting for a 28" smoothbore with swappable chokes and 24" rifled bore combo for a similiar price. I chose to do this, because I wanted all three types of barrels. The 18.5 barrel costs around $80 by itself, while the fully rifled barrel costs double that, so for my purposes, the combo I bought was a much better deal. I'll get the 18.5 barrel later on.

Also, this is a very good price for the combo if it suits your needs. FWIW, the Big 5's in my area have run this deal about every week for the last few years.

This message is clearly irrelevant and completely illogical.

Everyone knows the best zombie killers are the ones you don't have to re-load.

I recommend a spade or a crowbar.

Bzzzt! Sorry, I disagree. Mustn't let the zombies get too close!!!

Maybe, jawrat, but if you're using a shotgun, you have to let the zombies get close anyway. At that range, you'll be out of luck when you have to re-load.

Question for Shotgun gurus:
Does a 12-gauge have the same amount of Kick as a 20-Gauage?
Which one is a better choice for home security, 20 or 12?

12 > 20

heck, mine's got a bayonet. no joke...the milspec 590 with ghost ring sights and a nice bayonet mount...wheeeee!

oh, and for the guy who asked about recoil? these are REALLY sweet on the recoil for a 12ga. it's a recoil, but it's not gonna knock you over if you're prepared for it and the built in butt-pad is pretty good.

Why buy this shotgun when you can get a Remington 870 for the same price if not less. The remington is better built that this and its been time proven to be reliable.

I have friends who own this shotgun and dont like it at all

The 870 vs 500 debate has raged for years. Over that time people well versed in all aspects of firearms, their use, construction, performance etc. have picked one or the other with no clear winner. For every friend of yours who doesn't like it, it'd be easy to find a friend of mine who does. Considering the large amount of both models that have been in service for decades, I think the fact that the debate continues without a clear winner indicates that neither one is a loser or vastly inferior to the other. They are both solid performers. Choose based on which ones feels better to you personally, which is exactly what I did.

For the record, I didn't buy either. I purchased a Hawk 982 ($199 on sale at Big5), which is a clone of the Remington 870, and I'm very pleased with its workmanship, performance, and value.

Also for the record - last Black Friday Big5 had the 2 barrel Mossberg combo for $229, of course that was then and this is now. However I have recently noticed a decrease in the demand and increase in the supply of available firearms, and with that trend prices are nudging down slightly.
